About Me

Hi there! I’m Molly, the artist behind Glitter & Snark.

This adventure took root at a Seattle kitchen table back in 2014 with a friend’s birthday. I’d been making sweary, snarky cards for years, but I wanted to make her something more substantial than a card.

Hmmm. What if I took all the materials I used to make cards — hand-colored rubber stamped images, patterned papers, ribbons, snarky sayings — and collaged them onto a wooden base?

[Insert angelic choir here]

Ok, maybe that’s overstating how the piece turned out. I mean, yes, my friend loved it (she literally lol’d) but I saw all the flaws and my ADHD brain went into overdrive, trying to figure out how I could’ve improved it. So I made more.

One day my mom gave me some old Life magazines she’d found while cleaning out her attic and I haven’t looked back since.

I now make my signature artblocks, cards, and magnets from a little studio in Cleveland, OH. You can find me at markets, burlesque shows, and maker fairs throughout Northeast Ohio. Come by, say hi, and spend a few minutes laughing with me.

Q & A

My artblock & magnet images are cut from books, magazines, catalogs, and vintage photos. My card images are hand-stamped, hand-colored, and hand-cut. I don’t use any digital imagery in my work

God no. I am not that clever. Most of the phrases I use are out there in the ether. My magic is putting the right phrase with the right image.

Nope. It takes a lot of time to create listings, do e-commerce-worthy photography, and manage inventory. I’d rather spend that time actually making art. Plus, most folks don’t buy original art online, so it’s just not worth the effort.

It depends. I’m happy to do commissions but I can’t guarantee I’ll have specific images or paper available. So if you’re willing to be flexible, I bet we can make something work. Drop me a line!
